First of all, we are less than 3 months away from the annual Cleveland International Film Festival and it is already getting some recognition. This just announced:
The Cleveland International Film Festival is proud to announce that The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences? has named the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) as a qualifying festival in the category of Short Films. Winners of the CIFF Best Live Action Short Film and Best Animated Short Film awards will qualify to enter the Short Films category of the Academy Awards? for the concurrent season, provided the films otherwise comply with the Academy rules.
I would like to welcome the following new people to our group:
Leeza (who likes our group so much that she signed up twice!)
Matt (hard to find movies is one of our goals)
We are glad you have joined. At this time of year, there are quite a few good movies, many coming from Hollywood itself (Doubt, Reader, Revolutionary Road, Frost/Nixon, Benjamin, etc.). We might not be able to see all of these as a group because I don't want to cut out other smaller films that we would miss. As always, let me know your thoughts on these or other films.
Milk is one of those special films that is worth seeing together. It is our first one of the year and we are using the new cost model. Please don't let a few bucks prevent you from seeing movies with us. I have developed a lot of good friendships and I am hoping are too.
