We are only a couple of weeks away from the new opening of the Capitol Theater in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood (approximately West 65th and Detroit). Since we always hear that "independent movies" are an east side thing, well no more. We intend to include the Capitol in our regular rotation, however, until we see the kinds of films they show and how they relate to the Cedar Lee, we will just have to see. I hope all of you will plan on attending on a regular basis. Besides, we have a new batch of restaurants just waiting to be tried.
We have several movies coming up.
Facing Windows. This is in conjunction with the Italian Movie festival. I believe it is sold out but you can always try to still get in.
Thirst. This was moved to October 1. Definitely a movie worth seeing. It promises to be very well acted.
Seraphine. We are co-coordinating this with the French Meetup group. It is the true story about a cleaning lady who becomes an artist. It promises to provoke plenty of on conversation. The group will be heading to the Grotto Wine and Bar afterward. I hope to see you there.
Last of all, the Cleveland Jewish Filmfest is coming up. Like our fellow Italians, these movies fill up fast. Take a look at the list. Let me know if you have any thoughts. I will be scheduling a group event in the next week. Talk with you soon. http://www.clevejcc.org/FilmFest.asp
