The 2011 Spirit Award Nominations
![]() The Spirit Awards, an annual celebration of the best in indie film, will take place Saturday, February 26 hosted by Joel McHale. This year. IFC will be broadcasting the event at a reasonable time for those of us in the eastern time zone at 10 p.m. You can find out more about the awards and how the nominations and voting process work here. Selected from 220 submissions, this year’s winners will be announced at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. on the beach in Santa Monica. Since most of us won’t be there you can catch the taped awards show will air exclusively that night on IFC at 10 p.m. EST.
