Music Cleveland! / CIFF Discounts / Orchestra Plays Chaplin

A former member
Hi movie friends!

As a quick reminder: Kristina and I have formed a new meetup group focused on live music and dinner with a format something like the Independent Movie Group. It is called Music Cleveland! It is really an extension of discussions we have had over the past few years during our post-film socials.

As Jim mentioned last week, the annual $10 membership fee will be waived for members of the Independent Movie Group who are current on their fees. To take advantage of this one-time offer, you must join Music Cleveland! by next Wednesday, February 15th and be up to date on Movie Group dues. Music Cleveland! fees will then be waived for 2012.

Please use this opportunity to pay your dues on line (link on left margin) or personally to an organizer this weekend.

We've had a great response to date and have already scheduled two Tri-C JazzFest events and a couple of Cleveland Orchestra Fridays@7 programs. Don't miss this opportunity.

Speaking of the wonderful Cleveland Orchestra and discounts, we recently received a special offer for 50 percent off tickets to the Saturday, March 31st Concert and Film event. The Orchestra will play the musical score to Chaplin's City Lights while the silent classic is projected on a screen above. Full details are available on the files page under the "More!" menu on the top of our home page.

We are not scheduling this as a Movie Group event because it conflicts with the Cleveland International Film Festival's last Saturday night schedule. However, if you would like to organize this and be an event host, please contact me or Jim at your earliest opportunity.

This brief note is too long so – the best for last.

We have made arrangements with the Cleveland International Film Festival (March 22nd to April 1st) for a $2 discount on ticket purchases. This also applies to reduced ticket prices for CIFF members like myself. Please consider becoming a member and supporting this Cleveland treasure. Complete details are posted on the files section and are listed below. Please note that additional information can be obtained from these organizations. Movie Group Organizers cannot answer any questions that are not covered here.

Cheers,
Bill Johnson
