"Hidden Universe" at GLSC

Join us for the 4pm showing of Hidden Universe at the Great Lakes Science Center's Omnimax Theater. From the GLSC website:

"Take a breathtaking tour of deep space through images captured by Hubble and the world’s most powerful telescopes. Explore galaxies and travel the terrain of Mars; witness images of celestial structures; and peer deep inside vivid clouds of nebula."

The movie ends its run at GLSC the following Tuesday (26th), so this will be one of our last chances to check it out. Cost- $11 for adults ($9 for GLSC members) and $9 for those 12 and under (GLSC member price $7). The Omnimax movies generally run about 45 minutes.

Parking: there is always the GLSC garage, but it can be spendy ($10 flat rate w/out validated ticket). If you get your ticket validated, parking is $7. If the weather is good the lots behind the GLSC along Erieside Ave. should make for a cheaper alternative.

We'll pick a gathering spot for after the movie... open to suggestions!

See You there! :)

Very good movie and eats. Very enjoyable day, as usual with this group. / Honest, officer, I know that ignorance of the law is no excuse, but I really didn't know that "ln(exp(i*pi))" was an illegal operation!

Fabulous movie, but kinda short (like most OMNIMAX documentaries). I could watch hours & hours of this stuff :) Still, worth the price! Dinner at El Jalepeno was really good & conversation was great!

Kan Zamans is just a few blocks south of Detroit in W 25. Middle Eastern food and decor, belly dancer tonight after 11! http://kanzaman.net/. I had take out and it was good.

Cambodian is good and reasonably priced at Phnom Penh a little north of the Market on W 25th.

We get good Mexican at Villa Y Zapatas at W 85 and Madison

The neighborhood is sketchy but they have a fenced in lot, entrance off Madison. The building itself is painted green white and red and doesn't appear like a restaurant from the street. Entrance is in back from the parking lot.

All three will take reservations and are casual.

The weather has gotten really bad out east. The snow is sticking, so I'm not sure how driving will be. We still have a little time - we're hoping this calms down!

Tentative at this point. trying to conserve money. It also costs to drive there and park somewhere, or to take the rapid.
