UPDATE: When we tried to go to the Whiskey Island exit off of I-90/2 West, there was a Detour sign. We're not sure why. But if you are coming from the West, the Detour takes you to E. 45th Street. We don't know if this will still be in effect on Saturday - there's really no signage or anything other than those signs, which is annoying.
Let's have a great potluck, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine (hopefully) at beautiful Edgewater Park! We'll park in the main parking lot, near the walking trails, closer to the west end of the lot, where the concession stand and bathrooms are. We'll have balloons so people can find us.
Please bring a dish to share, bring your dogs, bring your kids, bring your kites, your frisbees, whatever! Let's get a big crowd for this event - it'll be a blast!
The concession stand was still open last year, don't know if it will be this year, but bring cash if you're feeling optimistic :).
The boat float starts right at 10, and it's really short-lived but fun. Get to the park before 10 if you want to see it! It's sponsored by Earth Day Coalition, and the boats are made from recycled materials.
Please refer to the map (click on the link). I tried to place the marker almost exactly where we'll be. Keep in mind there are two concession stands. We'll be closer to the western end of the lower Edgewater Park, not the one right off the Whiskey Island exit. You will have to turn down the middle drive and go to where the parking lot is in four sections. Look at the map and you'll see what I mean :) When you turn down the middle drive, it really looks like you're driving on a sidewalk, but it is actually a road!
