I don't understand how it is spitting in people's faces? Personally, I
love the idea; especially since it will be just one of several
monuments there for the season. I think the "Imagine no religion" sign
is a powerful form of reminder that it was explicitly religion that
brought the towers down; even if you are one who believes that the
primary motivation behind the attack was not religious, it was still
religion that deluded the minds of those who did the deeds.

For myself, I am willing to participate in all the holidays, although
I've only received invitations so far to Hannukah and Christmas
celebrations. I am never afraid or embarrassed, though, to remind
people what the "reason behind the season" actually is. Sometimes it
annoys people, but I think it is important today to remind people what
their delusions support.
