But Corey, how many things can be bungled and outright ignored before it starts being suspect? How many business and political ties in government can be conflicts of interest before people start saying, "Seriously, what the f***"?" How many coincidences can there be before they stop being coincidences?
There's SO many screw-ups. And granted, the government basically has the patent on screw-ups, but this seems pretty royal, even for them.
I mean, two of the hi-jackers that they "were unable to locate" prior to 9/11 were listed in the friggin' WHITE PAGES in San Diego under their real name, let alone bank accounts, bills, autos, etc. Ugh. This is where my &%$#@! tax dollars go??
[Alhazmi and Almihdhar] lived in San Diego about as openly as they could. They used their real
names on their rental agreement, [Congressional
Intelligence Committee, 9/20/02] driver's licenses, Social Security cards
and credit cards. [Newsweek,
6/2/02] In February, the two paid $3,000 cash for a 1988 Toyota Corolla and
registered it in Almihdhar's name (the registration was later signed over to
Florida Sun-Sentinel, 9/28/01]
Incredibly, they were even listed in the[masked] San Diego phone
book: "ALHAZMI Nawaf M 6401 Mount Ada Rd. [masked]-5919." In September
2000, Alhazmi opened a bank account. As Newsweek pointed out,
investigators "could have easily tracked them through bank records,"
had they been looking. [Newsweek,
I do not for a SECOND trust the government. I don't doubt that some crazy arabs flew the planes into the towers, but I DO doubt that that's all there is to the story. There are far too many "coincidences" and "screw-ups" for me to be at ease about it.
