Absolutely. But sometimes they do ask whether I need a bag, and the frequency of those times sees to be increasing slowly. Especially when the cashier is younger. So there's hope!

We have a serious problem in this country. It seems like every time I go into  the store and buy the smallest item, even a single candy bar or a pop, the cashier will ask me "Do you want a bag for that"?

Everyone should be concerned about filling up landfills and dumps with plastic bags. Yet it seems that every cashier at every store that I go into does the same thing over and over again. I think it's about time we had a serious discussion in the commercial sector about ways of reducing waste in the same manner that we've done on a community level.

Does this bother anyone else?
