Re: [humanism-174] FOX's version of War on Xmas

An interesting question (where was Jesus born?), but the wrong question.  Better to ask, "How did Jesus come to be born in Bethlehem?"

There are only two birth stories in the gospels (Matthew and Luke) and both give different and very contradictory versions of how the family came to be in Bethlehem and how they ended up in Nazareth.  When read side by side, it is easy to see that the two authors were inventing their own devices in order to accomplish what they believed to be a necessity: a Bethlehem birthplace for a man who everyone at the time knew came from Nazareth!

I went to the "Where was Jesus Born" video.  That was sort of funny.  But, there is a lot here that FOX wants to cover and I can't go through them all right now at work. ha ha

I would like to see which ones rank BEST in our group.

Have a great day,

Sheri
