In a message dated 3/5/[masked]:53:14 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, [address removed] writes:For now, none of you can answer why it's ok for every other world leader to kill their enemies during war time, but Hitler was not allowed to kill his enemies? This statement is both offensive AND complete horseshit.FACTS:1) WWII began in September, 1939 with the invasion BY GERMANY of Poland. First shots were fired by GERMAN FORCES.2) Allied nations (Britain and France) declared war on Germany, NOT TO KEEP HITLER FROM KILLING HIS ENEMIES, but as a treatied response to Germany's invasion of Poland. Russia was an ally of Germany until GERMANY INVADED RUSSIA in June of 1941.3) Hitler was never punished for war crimes, or even detained and charged for any of his crimes against humanity. Hitler committed suicide on April 29, 1945, before the war actually ended and thus avoided capture by Allied Forces.4) The Jews were not "enemies"; they were made to be scapegoats by Hitler and were in fact, slotted for removal from Germany and/or extermination years by Hitler years before he gained power (see MEIN KAMPF by Adolf Hitler for explicit explanation of Hitler's ideas and goals). Anti-Jewish persecutions in Europe predate Hitler by hundreds of years. In 1492 Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain issued a decree forcing Spanish Jews to either convert to Catholicism or accept exile from Spain. Forced conversions were common and in fact, the Spanish Inquisition was began in order to ferret out converts who might still be secretly practicing their Jewish faith. Organized and disorganized persecution of Jews went on throughout Europe, especially in Ukraine and France, as well as in Germany. The root was of course the NT gospels that tried to divert responsibility for killing Jesus from the Roman authorities to the Jews.5) Prior to WWII there was no world-wide regulatory powers. The League of Nations was impotent without American membership. Thus, the balance of power involved treaties and alliances. For the most part, what a ruler did to his or her own citizenry was nobody else's business. However, revolutions did add an element of justice. Louis XVI of France and the Czar of Russia and his family discovered firsthand that killing one's enemies could backfire.6) After WWII, The United Nations did engage in actions that would have been considered a violation of a ruler's sovereignty in order to protect minority groups being persecuted or massacred. Actions in Iraq (first Gulf War), Bosnia, and Somalia were undertaken primarily for this purpose. The U.S. and its allies maintained a no-fly zone over Iraq in order to provide some protection to the Kurds.7) The Third Reich was punished because A. Germany lost the war, and B. because their crimes were considered (and are still considered by sane civilized HUMANS) to be extremely heinous. However, German leaders were not the only ones to be charged with war crimes. Specific Japanese leaders were also brought to justice for their own crimes against humanity. To sum up: Germany started the war by invading Poland; Germany lost the war; the Allies went to war against Germany to defend Poland from GERMAN INVADERS; and Hitler was never punished for any of his crimes--he killed himself in order to avoid capture.Final fact: there are thousands of books written by legitimate historians as well as actual participants in WWII. Only a very small percentage are written by Jews. Even members of the Third Reich are published (Mein Kampf by Hitler, and INSIDE THE THIRD REICH by architect Albert Speer give good inside coverage of the darkness that was Germany in the 30s and 40s.). The vast majority of the enormous wealth of documentation of the Holocaust and the Camps was provided necessarily by the non-Jews who did the actual liberation of the camps. Photographers and cinematographers were imbedded inside units of all three Allied armies (U.S., UK, and Soviet). Now, I would request that Mark remove this offensive and vile "Heathen" from this group and forum. Her rants and bigotry and nazi revisionism and complete disregard of facts do not belong here.Tim Campbell
