Teen car crash survivor - god made it happen

After listening to this, it just drives me crazy that people "thank god" for the accident because it brought another medical situation to light.  Now, her friend was a passenger in the car.  She broke many bones in her body.  The doctor didn't find cancer in the friend.  So, should the friend thank god too?  

At the end of the interview, it is mentioned they are raising money for her medical expenses.  She should thank her god for that or at least ask him for the money.

Ugh...I get so frustrated when I see or read things like this.
