I was watching Fox 8 this morning and their "Unplugged" (callers call in or text with their thoughts) was about the new pope. I was pleasantly surprised how many people had opinions of, more or less, "who cares".
With that, Huff Post had some great comments that were against the whole idea of popes.
The future is looking brighter. NPR had a theologian professor from the Catholic church that said there are more countries in Africa and the southern hemisphere that are becoming Catholic. Yet, the "west" is starting to move away from it. I mean no disrespect, but that does not bode well for the church because if they lose the West, they lose money. The people that are becoming Catholic are poor.
This is just my observation, so let me know if I am wrong.
