I'll be reviewing a new book that just came out by Robert Price and Edwin Suominen titled EVOLVING OUT OF EDEN--Christian responses to Evolution.  Covers this same territory.  The so-called religious moderates accept the idea of evolution, and its attendant NATURAL processes, but want to have it both ways: a natural process being supervised/assisted by a supernatural entity.  The question is not so much whether the process is intended or emergent, but if a natural process works fine, why would the supernatural be needed at all?

I fully intended to be facetious with a bit of truth mixed in.  Implying this topic is a closed book. We KNOW evolution happens. We KNOW we are all related. The question is whether our evolution was intended or emergent.

I've seen desperate fundies use tonality over facts. 'oh so, , ,  Youu say and Youu think" bla bla

Their next desperation move will have to be aliens were their god all along. It's already in movies. The Day The Earth Stood Still 'in our image' being from the heavens compared to Jesus hero figure
Goku in Dragon Ball Z fits the same description.

Some of them insist their type of human came from the stars and the rest evolved here and are still cavemen. What's more likely is they never learned to use their TPJ and still think everyone is a convincing robot.

For the money on a string contest, tell them the reason they are required to get a flue shot every year is because of the "Evolutionists" invading their drug stores with science pamphlets. It's technically true. Maybe we can start a wave of fundamentalists flue shot boycotts!

So um, giraffes have this nerve in their necks, and it's like double long or whatever, therefor Jesus.

Of coarse I was talking about the guy who's posing the challenge. I understood TC3's point completely. However, I could have pointed out that the challenge is not going to be held by a regular court, according to the article. Which leads me to believe that there will be some christian bias in the challenge. Therefore, I went with have fun disproving radiometric dating. Sorry for misleading you Randy. Ahhh, the English language is so delicate.

I hope you are right Linas. But the context in which Sam made the comment led me to conclude he was referring to TC3 and not the moron who proposed the challenge. However, if I am wrong I gladly stand corrected. Only Sam can clear up whatever misunderstanding, if any, I have here.

Randy,

Why are you accusing him of calling TC3 a douchebag?  I think Sam is referring to the guy proposing the challenge!

:)

Sam,

Why are you calling him a douchebag? I think TC3 is making the point that the evolution side will win and collect the $10,000, hence TC3's reference to the Kitzmiller v. Dover case and link to the page on the National Center for Science Education website describing 10 court cases in which evolution prevailed over creationism.
