rationality

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In philosophy, rationality is the characteristic of any action, belief, or desire, that makes their choice optimal under a set of constraints.[1] It is a normative concept of reasoning in the sense that rational people should derive conclusions in a consistent way given the information at disposal. It refers to the conformity of one's beliefs with one's reasons to believe, or with one's actions with one's reasons for action. However, the term "rationality" tends to be used differently in different disciplines, including specialized discussions of economics, sociology, psychology, evolutionary biology and political science. A rational decision is one that is not just reasoned, but is also optimal for achieving a goal or solving a problem.

Determining optimality for rational behavior requires a quantifiable formulation of the problem, and the making of several key assumptions. When the goal or problem involves making a decision, rationality factors in how much information is available (e.g. complete or incomplete knowledge). Collectively, the formulation and background assumptions are the model within which rationality applies. Illustrating the relativity of rationality: if one accepts a model in which benefiting oneself is optimal, then rationality is equated with behavior that is self-interested to the point of being selfish; whereas if one accepts a model in which benefiting the group is optimal, then purely selfish behavior is deemed irrational. It is thus meaningless to assert rationality without also specifying the background model assumptions describing how the problem is framed and formulated.

I told a girl named Noel, who likes The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington, and another Named Elisabeth about their names. I said The El in El is a beth comes from God El and Goddess Isis at the top of the pyramid (A) during the month of beth the house of bread or Virgo. So Saturn and the Moon in Virgo line up annually. We call that mapping astronomy.
The El in Noel is the same El. It's Pere Noel, Sinter Klas, Kriss Kringle, Buono Natale, Pelz-Nicole, Topo Gigio, Saturn, Santa, Satan, The big red lobster man, from The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington.

Culture is emergent from the ground up, be it in a petrie dish or a civilized society. We today use testerday to communicate. It came from somewhere.

This is rational in my mind because it is true. It's like saying the pope wears a mitre hat because he freaking does. The thing has a history as a fish head. Are you going to tell me It's untrue because it's absurd?  People for thousands of years mapped and tried to figure it all out out there. Just because we have does not mean we are not built on what they did. They are the ground and we are the up. We are in danger of extinction and the only thing we can do is act like Douglass Adams' kakapo birds.

Listen to Douglas Adams speak.

Santa IS Saturn. JayZs Lucy the Light of the Morning IS the morning star Lucifer along with the moon Diana. I don't care if idiots think the Devil arm wrestles Jesus to save their fucking souls. Truth is what it is. Saying "the sun people' the moon people' does sound nutty, dare i say looney but regardless, it's just corporate logos. Walmart has a sun symbol as does Red Bull, Monster has moon stuff.

I have a question for any reading this.

If a person hypnotizes someone on stage with their consent, then makes them do things, is that moral? What if they hypnotize the person without their consent?

Whether the stuff out there affects us directly or as a placebo is an astoundingly interesting topic that has cost countless man hours and indeed lifetimes. I respect the subject at hand but again insist, the mapping of the stuff up there over a minimum 10,000 years, has grown and evolved into an amazing hidden in plain sight subconscious symbolic language. Even our alphabet is reminiscent of hieroglyph type early phonetics. they stash the thorn crowned bull / man vs the horn crowned 666 man again and again through history with countless names and every generation is people like us looking out at the 'loons' lol
(Red Bull is bi-bulls sun symbolism and Monster is three slash three sixes)
I wonder about Gates and Jobs. Gates of heaven and Jobs are hell sort of thing with the gnostic apple symbolism in a shiny package vs the four seasons sun symbol used by Microsoft these days.
It's the age old decision. Do you want a happy illusion or an discomforting truth? Red pill or blue? Paper or plastic?

Looking is not magic.
Looking is magic if one thinks that there is a biological effect caused only by looking.  There is also a difference between looking at a light source and being aware that the light source is there--and accordingly being aware that the light source changes in brightness in a regular cycle over time.

There is a lot of myth as well as pseudo-science associated with the various ideas about the relationship between human behavior and moonlight.  Certainly in the dim dim past, our nocturnal ancestors would have developed an aversion to nights that were well lit.  If they could see more, then vision-based predators would be more likely to see them.

(and the cycle of waxing and waning that precedes and follows the full moon). Gravitationally, the moon is there regardless of whether it is visible or not (the tides go in and out every day even when we cannot directly see the moon!) This is all because of the positions of the sun and moon relative to the earth.  Newton explained it fully!

If gravitational changes are registered by our bodies subconsciously then that suggests a sort of Pavlov style naturally selected for ability that goes unnoticed.

I wonder if we can be classically conditioned with invisible inaudible subconscious inputs from electronic devices.

I'm glad we conversed on this topic. It allowed me a chance to share one of my favorite videos of all time. Of all time!

and wtf is phantom phone vibration? Did it exist before cell phones?

He doesn't know where/when the Eater symbols came from?
Easter is East Star Ishtar I think the name Esther also.  It's Sirius the star in the East. The same one from the Three Kings / Orions belt mythology. The Dog Star, (not to be confused with The Morning Star Venus). Springtime fertility fuck bunnies regrown grass, fertile eggs and a basket for the mating season baby. It's rebirth symbolism. The opposite the four seasons from the Death Jack pumpkin head thing. Paganism evolved, lol.
Spring has always been looked at as a time of re-birth, especially by people living in northern latitudes.  btw, it is opposite for those living in southern latititudes!

Our cells have been experiencing the same thing since before cavemen and we don't even notice.
Sometimes during the month I'll notice in passing, people smell different for a few days like clockwork. How do women's bodies know to sync with the moon? Even simple organisms with basic photo receptors can make out black and white shapes. I know a girl, who every time she noticeably smells great, it's the three days of the full moon. The other girls then sync from her over the next three days. How exactly does this happen? Say once it's because she looked at it and suddenly you're a nut. I wonder if having a moon phase desktop gadget will help a person with biorhythm problems to right themselves.
Not because she looked at it.  That would be a form of magic.  It is also unlikely to be "action at a distance" as scientists once thought of gravity and magnetism. Before field theory.

Best explanation is that after millions of years of evolution, our bodies have adapted to the light given by the full moon (and the cycle of waxing and waning that precedes and follows the full moon). A person would be aware of the cycle of brightening and darkening of the moon without having to look at it.

How exactly these effects occur--or even if they actually do-- is a matter for biologists to figure out!

I like listening to Bill Maher. His opinions are well read. It's when he's doing standup that I get most interested. He uses very strange NLP and anchoring techniques. For example, the two fingers up on one hand and one up on the other when sealing in a point. Adam Savage on Mythbusters uses the exact same technique.

If I come across any examples sometime soon, I'll make sure to post them here.
Richard Bandler is a name drop that comes to mind.
