RE: [humanism-174] Tremont Restaurants

Sylvie, the reason Jessica gave for leaving the group was that from reading some of our emails the past few days, she decided this group really wasn’t for her. Not sure what that means, and I don’t think we want to pursue it.

On a lighter note, for the August meetup, how would everyone feel about hanging out at South Side? Is anyone familiar with this place? The only question we have (for the smokers in the group) is whether the “huge” outdoor patio is smoker friendly. It looks like this place is open quite late, because they have House Specials they advertise serving until 12AM. The menu looks yummy, and for the Vegetarians and Vegans, they do have a nice selection of salads, a Vegan burger, a Portabella sandwich, and something they call a “Capresa sandwich”. One of their House Specialties is also Veggie Soba Noodles. And on a side note I’m all over the Chocolate Suicide Cake!!!!

Hi. Sounds like you all had a great meetup. Our vacation is going well. Relaxing and having fun in my sister-in-laws pool. But of course I had to bring the laptop and keep up with my e-mail and such. Why did Jessica leave? The t-shirts sound great. I will go anywhere you guys want. I just need directions.  Sylvie

I found this sooooooooo convenient site listing every restaurant and bar in Tremont with links to each place's website so you can look at the menu/prices/hours. Of course now I want to try all the restaurants! After perusing some, I guess I would go for Farenheit, Parallax, Lago, or Fat Cat's. Some of these places are I'd say in the moderate price range, not inexpensive. I would n't want to price anyone out of coming to the meetup because they don't like to spend that much on dinner. So I would also be fine with the Puerto Rican place or the "neighborhood coffee shop." Actually, I would be fine with anything. Even the ice cream place! There is no law that a hot fudge sundae cannot serve as an entree!

I just looked at a few and found that most have something vegetarians can eat so that's good, however, many close at 9 so we wouldn't want that I don't think, if we arrive at 7:30-the way we all discuss-I don't know if being hurried out of the place at 9 will work. Others stop serving at 9 but have a bar area that remains open-so that might work.

So here's the link for everyone to check out.

Ok I'm hungry now from looking at all the menus.
