Re: [humanism-174] a conversation with my christian cousin

Agreed!  I have a few folks who are dangerously on the bubble as far as FB is concerned. Part of me wants nothing to do with loons; part wants to respond to every one of their insane posts.  I end up ignoring some and going wild on others. I feel schizophrenic!  When I hammer them I feel guilty for being mean; when I ignore them I feel hypocritical!    Maybe unfriending really IS the best option!

That sucks sam.
Not all religious folk are that bad of course you know.
I was hurt when family removed me from FB years ago but I quickly realized how silly of me to feel hurt by that. They just don't want to deal with the stress of opposition to their beliefs. Usually in life on the street we don't have to deal with every personal belief someone has, family or not.
So I started removing people for stuff like extreme libertarianism, anti vaccines and other things that causes me stress to see in my feed.
Some people are better dealing with those topics but I just get upset because of anxiety.  Character flaw I guess.
Its usually just easier to not deal with extreme opposition. But other than that I still have religious FB friends but they are not as bad. I like to learn something new but not from crazies.
Being a crazy once myself, I can spot them easily. Those who compartmentalize are much easier to be friends with.
