Cleveland Game Devs October Meetup

Here are a few possible discussion topics for October:

// Are choices of target marketplaces an early consideration in development?
// Books on games (fiction or non-fiction)
// Global Game Jam 2013
// "Hijacking Destiny: Random Numbers and You" Oct. 20
// Games we're playing
// Post additional topics in the comments

At these monthly meetups, get together with game developers and enthusiasts in the Northeast Ohio area to discuss games and the industry. All are welcome regardless of skill or knowledge; you don't have to be a programmer or an artist to join in.

Recruiting is discouraged, and members are advised to do detailed research and vetting before entering into any venture.

Join or login to comment.

    I won’t make it tonight, but I have an update on Adobe’s licensing nonsense/mandatory revenue sharing for “XC” games. Bottom line: the games I make are generally promotional ones, in which case Adobe’s cut is zero; and the licensing process isn’t all that painful. (Unless you want more than one game on the same server... Adobe has no way to do that other than the workaround of pretending they’re all one game.)

    Can we give Mike Geig of Stark State University the first topic slot? He would like to talk about creating a NEO IGDA chapter and I think it could be a good discussion before we have to compete for noise.
