BOGA Anniversary Party at Underhill's Games

This being the second Friday in September means that this BOGA meetup is the much anticipated Anniversary Party! There will be a number of things going on this month that are different from a standard BOGA meetup. Here is some important info:

-$5 Cover! Unlike our normal gatherings (which are free), at the anniversary party we ask for $5 per person. I will comment below to explain in more detail what this money is used for. You’ll receive a wristband to show that you've paid. We ask for this $5 from everyone in attendance, both BOGA members and guests.

-Pizza! We’ll have pizza (probably Donatos) brought in a couple times throughout the evening. Everyone with a wristband gets pizza.

-Free Games! BOGA member Philip Migas has done a tremendous amount of work getting game companies to donate games for our party. Only BOGA MEMBERS should expect to get a free game. Not sure if you’re a member? I’ll post a link below where you can check. Games will be distributed to members randomly.

-Underhill’s Credit! Everyone (BOGA members and guests) can participate in a raffle to win fat bags of Underhill’s store credit!

-9:00! This is the magic time. At 9:00 we will make a series of announcements, hand out the free games, and announce the winners of the raffle. This is also about the time that the last wave of pizza will arrive. If you show up after 9:00 you miss out on pretty much everything.

So, just to recap: EVERYONE pays $5, EVERYONE gets pizza, EVERYONE can participate in the Underhill’s Credit raffle. Only BOGA MEMBERS can expect to get a free game.

Keep in mind, it WILL be very crowded. We are likely to fill both Underhill’s and Donatos across the street. Please be patient and courteous and share table space whenever possible.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Some of you may be asking right now, "What the heck is a BOGA?!" Here's an explanation for anyone unfamiliar: BOGA stands for the Boardgamers of Greater Akron. This can be a little confusing, because BOGA is distinct from the Cleveland Gamers, in that BOGA is an organization that has a definite member list, keeps stats on games its members play, and pays for an organizational membership with GAMA (thus getting its members 1/2 price admission to Origins every year).

Being a member of the Cleveland Gamers Meetup site (where we are right now) does NOT mean you are a member of BOGA. Membership in BOGA is free and comes solely from participation in BOGA events. Most Cleveland Gamers events are NOT BOGA events, but BOGA events are listed on the Cleveland Gamers Meetup site. Standard BOGA events, participation in which counts towards BOGA membership, are held on the second Friday and fourth Saturday of each month.

Just a note... there will be a $5 admission fee for this event, which will be collected at the door. This being said, the cost comes with food and a chance to win prizes.
