Board Games at Recess

We demo new board games. We'll have plenty of games on hand, but feel free to bring your own. We have drinks & snacks for sale, but there are a wide variety of nice places to eat nearby.

Had a great time! I came late but still had the chance to learn and play two new games and also learned about some other games that I am now eager to try. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this meetup and look forward to next week as well as other events by this group.

Thanks Heidi! As I recall, you played Gravwell & Ticket to Ride America. Glad you could make it & play some games with us.

I learned 3 new games. All of them good: Cheaty Mages, Gravwell & St. Petersburg. 2 light weight games & St. Petersburg is Med.+

Hi there. My husband and I would really like to come to this event, but we wouldn't be able to get there until about 6:15-6:30. Would that be alright? If not, we'll just try a different night. No worries.

Yes Heidi! People come and go all night. You can come when it is convenient for you. We will get you in a game.

Usually everybody brings some games & we break into groups & play what we're in the mood for. Generally light to medium weight games that can be easily taught and played in 60-90 minutes. Think Kingsburg, 7 Wonders, Lords of Waterdeep, Pandemic & Survive. Somewhere around the level of Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride. We also play a lot of light games like Forbidden Desert, Sushi Go, No Thanks, For Sale, Love Letter, Coup & Hannabi. You may never have heard of any of these games, but they're all fun & we teach them to new people all the time.

Hey, I'm new to meetup and wanted to attend a nearby board gaming get together. I'm not sure how this works... do we just show up with board games and then pick one, or is one chosen beforehand?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
