I have a BA in art history, so I love going to galleries and art museums and I enjoy conversations during and after. I'm also a former ballet dancer, and love watching all sorts of dance. Music and theatre are definitely events I enjoy attending and conversing about afterwards. Beyond that cultural plethora I also enjoying grabbing coffee, a yummy meal, or going on hikes.
I just found it! I hope an invitation is not necessary. I'm still relatively new to the City and am developing a network of interesting friends.
I have a pretty diverse background. I have lived in several different cities/states, and have degrees and interests beyond just law (thank goodness, I enjoy being a lawyer, but its important to reach beyond that discipline, too). I definitely think that my background can offer interesting insights that will lead to interesting conversations. In terms of what I hope to gain--basically, to learn from others and have interesting and meaningful conversations with other talented, and smart women. I enjoy intellectual challenges, and enjoy socializing in ways that are fun, most certainly, but also allow us to grow and learn. I don't want to spend all of my time thinking in my own box!
I originally grew up in Texas, but was raised by a New Englander, so that can make me a little quirky (I think in a good way, and I have very little of of southern accent). I attended college in Texas, where I got degrees in Art History and Political Science (which was a strange combination but I enjoyed it), and after working there for a few years, I decided that I had my fill, and went to law school in the midwest. I'm a fairly ambitious person, so I picked up my stuff and moved to the east coast to work, although not before a stop off in Boston, where I got a masters in philosophy and taught some college courses. Now I work at a law firm and love being in NYC. In many ways, I am still, very much, exploring all the city offers (is that journey ever finished?)
Hi! I'm a lawyer here in the city and am looking for a fun, smart and interesting group of women to meet and enjoy (and learn from!) some of the cultural (and, well, food!) offerings of the City.
