  •  Bright people with big problems technically (with AWS) and only a little bit of a handle on things. Fertile ground for entrepreneurism. I don't think Amazon is going to upstage anyone's approach (they appear to have their hands full), more likely to buy-in to what people do on their own. Who knows?

Charles Johnson on Jan 24, 2008.

  •  I'd like to see some more advanced topics and discussions happening.

Beau Lebens on Nov 28, 2007.

  •  Energetic, fun crowd fascinated by Amazon AWS. Free beer too! (not sure if that's true every time)

  •  So far, I'm neutral on the issue. The two meetups I've been to have been limited in value (although I have found small bits of wisdom scattered throughout), but I plan to continue going to see if the usefulness of these meetups improve before I can recommend them to anyone. I can't really recommend them to people who've taken the time to read through and understand the Amazon-provided documentation (like I have) because the meetups are really nothing more than a re-hash of that. However, for those who are less technical or have not yet decided to move forward with an AWS infastructure, these meetups will provide more value.
