Abstract
--------------
The specifics of a cloud's computing architecture may have an impact on application design. This is particularly important in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud environments.This presentation analyzes aspects of the Amazon EC2 IaaS cloud environment that differ from a traditional datacenter and introduces general best practices for ensuring data privacy, storage persistence, and reliable DBMS backup. Best practices for application robustness and scalability on demand are reviewed and are especially significant in leveraging the full potential of an IaaS cloud. The need for a cloud application management and configuration system is briefly reviewed and two alternate approaches to cloud application management are described (RightScale and Kaavo).
* Introduction to Cloud Computing Architecture
* Overview of Amazon EC2
* EC2 Cloud Application Design and Best Practices
o Ensuring robustness and scalability on demand
o Ensuring data privacy, storage persistence, and reliable DBMS backup
* Managing EC2 cloud application infrastructures
* Creating a cloud application system development life cycle

seems many people attending resemble question marks...
Can carpool from San Jose, ride or drive. Will be looking to network with some hands-on types or entrepreneurs.
Hi Sebastian: this is a big group, is it possible for you to announce to the crowd a time at the end to do a 30 second lightning talk for people looking to meet others for specific purposes like networkng or for those looking for solutions to specific problems? Kind of like what they do at SHDH.
I will try to be on time but I was wondering if it's I can still get thru the front door if I come later?

will this talk be archived online somewhere ?
would very much like to attend, but it's looking like i have conflicting schedules . =T
