Very very nice folks... problem was everyone was speaking Portuguese which is exactly what I thought I wanted to hear. Problem was however, same as in Brazil - I could not catch enough of any of the neighboring conversations to understand more than a word or two. I did however catch a lot of single words or phrases that I had not heard since leaving Brazil that brought them back to memory and then I was more able to understand some of the people's conversation parts around me. I guess the deciding factor is that I did want to go and hear Portuguese of any sort - but I was thinking that there could be more interactivity between me and native speakers such as I did for the persons in Brazil wanting to hear English spoken. Not just 'in the air around them' but actually involving them in conversation. Nevertheless it was a very pleasurable dining experience and friendly environment - but I feel it is better suited for native speakers.

I'm sorry that I did not attend. I live in Plano and did not wake up this morning until around noon. It is a bit of a drive to Arlington from Plano anyway, and things would probably have been over before I could have put myself together and gotten over there. It would be easier for me if the location were nearer (whine) but I do realize that mid-cities is central for everyone in the Plex..... Até a próxima!

It was great to hear Portuguese being spoken. I don't speak it yet, but am learning to use what I studied long ago. Such a beautiful language.
