Spring picnic

Who is this mysterious stranger posting a CASH event? Could it be... the long-lost, recently AWOL organizer/founder?

CASH is reuniting (at last!) for a potluck picnic in the early afternoon of April 28. It's on a Sunday, so I know you don't have anything else going on that morning. Plan to meet in the shady area a little bit north of the Cafe. (If you came to CASH's last picnic, it will be in the same spot.) Bring a dish to share and a blanket to sit on, and if you know in advance what you'll be bringing, sign up on the events page to avoid repeats. Pets and kids are more than welcome, but please be prepared to keep your little buddy's paws or fingers out of other people's plates to avoid repeating some of the less fun incidents from picnics past.

See you there!

I enjoyed meeting the people. Wished I had had time to get to know them better. A little too warm at times.

Lots of good fun and conversation, as well as talk of future get-togethers.

I will set up at 11. I have a canopy tent which is red with UGA logos. I have chairs and a small table. To be even easier to spot, I will wear my red Reason Rally shirt. I am so excited to see old and new faces. Itwas a busy winter and this is long overdue. The best area to look will be on the Drayton side close to the parking lot by Hall St. That is behind the stage and white building that houses the cafe and restrooms. See you all there!!

We can bring some chairs. We live only a couple of blocks away and it would help if someone can pick them up.

We're still planning on coming, but it won't be until the tail end of the picnic. We'll contribute a dessert, assuming we make it before everyone leaves.

Important information. Confederate Memorial Day is on April 28. Set-up will be in our vicinity. Might want to consider another location. It's a big park.

My chairs won't be available. Any other suggestions?

I will bring a few chairs. Maybe 4. Maybe ya'll can share some food with me.

Being at the last one, I am going to suggest that people bring blankets (or folding chairs) for sitting, folding tables for food, and most of all, NOT SO MUCH FOOD! No, seriously. We had enough last time for a group about 10 times our size. Bring a moderate amount, in smaller sample portions, if possible.

Hello! I'll bring whatever I might fit on my motorcycle (weather permitting). I think some cheese and summer sausage won't get too squished. LOL!

May have a tour that morning which will make me late, but will try to drop by and visit with everyone.

The Cafe was historically called the Fort. The hotel known as the Mansion and Hall St. are across Witaker and a tad south. Last time we were a bit North of the Cafe. Al

I can't do any real cooking at the time being (not that I can't cook, I just don't have access to a real kitchen). I was thinking about bringing a whole bunch of fried chicken and such, any other suggestions? I'm really looking forward to this!

If you want to help out with beverage patrol, that's always a always a welcome addition to a picnic (and it's low-stress for someone without a kitchen.)

There is a limit on guests? I have two kids and a husband...we will bring food.

    April 9, 2013

    • Piper

No, there's no limit on guests! Ignore any weird glitches from meetup.com that indicate the contrary. Bring the whole family!

You won't be there by yourself! You'll be there with a huge group. The whole point of these events is to socialize :)
