About: Richard Bovell

Richard Bovell is a front-end engineer and UI designer. While Richard has a computer science degree, everything he has learned about modern web application development and mobile app development is self-taught and is attributed to great programming books and free online programming resources—blogs, tutorials, open source libraries and frameworks, and the like. And for this reason, Richard is giving back with this blog.

Hi My name is Ananya, a ComD Major at Pratt. I am researching "human interactions within their social network and environment". I was wondering if I could have ten minutes of your time to interview you all to gather some information for my research?

To anyone who saw my comment with a link to download one of the books in the roadmap for 'free', turns out this site is illegal - Really Sorry! I deleted the copy I downloaded and am purchasing the book on Amazon : ) Much better Karma!

Well done :) I have the book, as paperback. Though what should be allowed is to be able to download a digital format such as PDF for instance at a heavily discounted price since it's just another "medium" for copyrights that have been already paid on the content. Unfortunately that is still illegal I believe so will have to buy the duplicate, just to have it in electronic format... speaking of Karma there I don't know if such greedy policies will eventually be bad Karma for the publishing industry. That would be the same Karma the record labels got when instead of taking Napster and turn it into the legal cents-per-track digital compressed downloads, went to war with it and didn't capitalize on the new delivery methods until much later (itunes anyone? ;D). I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with books. But I digress... sorry. Thanks for rectifying the mistake :)
