CodeHarbour May

Hi guys

Time is slipping by so we figured we should get a date in the diary for our next meetup.   Luke Frake is coming along to talk about some of the techniques he has found to speed up your website, ways to reduce and optimise your assets and improve your CSS.  Sounds good!

The format will be the same as usual, a social session to catch up and eat some Pizza, followed by Luke's talk and then further discussion, and maybe a pub visit once we wrap up at The Workshop.

We hope you can all make it...

Great talk Luke, plenty of energy and enthusiasm and really enjoyed filling in the gaps in my knowledge. Cheers.

My talks here if anybody wanted to grab things from my links or just have a look through

Thanks everybody for listening to me yammer on yesterday, any feedback would be much appreciated :)

The name I couldn't say was Ilya Grigorik but have a look at him if you want to look at more performance stuff, he goes very in depth but he's brilliant!

Wes - You asked about paint rectangles, something like this by Addy Osmani would probably answer most of your questions, explains how the problems are created, how to look out for them more and how to solve.

Really enjoyed tonight. Whoever it was that questioned if routers need to change for HTTP 2.0, you were right, and I was wrong. The hardware does not need to change for HTTP 2.0. Only the browser and the server need to change.

HTTP 2.0 spec realised they could not change TCP to meet their needs as so much hardware is already out there, so instead HTTP 2.0 runs over UDP instead of TCP. I can link to some slides is anybody is interested.

Anyway I think it was Hein, you were correct :)

Not going to be able to make Thursday. The wife got there first on the calendar. Best of luck Luke and I'll catch you all next month.
