SICP study group

  • Jul 25, 2014 · 10:30 AM
  • Nextspace Berkeley

Our two-section window of focus will slide to encompass Section 2.1 (from last week) and Section 2.2 (new). Please read with care and vigor, and attempt exercises that look interesting.

The goal of this study group is for mutual support in working through Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (https://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/), a classic textbook. The group meets weekly and operates by lazy evaluation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazy_evaluation): the goals/assignments for a given week are determined the week prior; we are not trying to have a fixed "course" that will take N weeks to complete.

I'm at the tail end of a run of busy time. Sorry I can't make it today, but normally Friday morning would be okay for me. Mark can never make it on a weekday due to work, so Saturday was best for both of us. Glad you're still at it. I see I have a lot of catchup to do!

I could meet during the week or Saturday, if anyone wants to go over things outside of the Friday meetups. I've been going slowly due to my site launch, but would probably go faster if I had some fixed study times.

Are we moving this to Fridays, or is this a one-time reschedule?
