Programming: Open Study Session (Berkeley)

  • Aug 13, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

If you're studying programming during the week and want some company, come meet at a cafe in Berkeley.

This is a self-directed study session with no scheduled plan or leader. Just bring whatever tutorials, books, courses, or projects that you're working on. I'll probably be working on Django, JavaScript, or Scheme.

Sometimes it's easier to stay focused if a specific time is scheduled for studying.

There is no fixed duration for the meetup -- I'll be there for about 3 hours.

I'm at one of the wooden tables against the wall in the front room. It's to the right as you walk in. I have a black laptop with "FSF" and "Esperanto" stickers on it.

This meeting is unstructured and at a public cafe, so if you're on the waitlist, feel free to show up. I limited the meetup to seven RSVPs, because it might be difficult to find space all at one table with more than that, but if people want to split up at different tables, we could do that.

Charge your laptop in advance, in case the tables by the walls fill up. They serve good breakfast there too. Next week's event is in a room that holds 50+, so check that one out too:

Update: I increased the limit to 12, so there's no more waitlist. If the group is too big for one table, we can split into two groups. I hope that works for everyone...
