I really enjoyed going to this meetup. I'm excited about the work that Code Cause is doing and I can't wait to be at a skill level where I can really contribute. Loved the since of community and the willingness of others to help me out when I needed it! #launchcodergirl

Hey everyone! It's almost that time. We are going to have a great evening tonight with our sister organization CodeCause. For those of you that don't know, CodeCause has partnered up with LaunchCode and Code Until Dawn to get code bases in our hands at the meetups to solve real world problems in our community. Tonight will be the first of those problems to solve. I can't wait to see you all here and looking forward to a great event!

    July 18

    • Andrew U.

What will the problem be, and can we still work on our own stuff instead?

      1 · July 18

    • Tom K.

Jason, as you saw last night they are separate and will become more so as we move it into other venues and grow beyond STL

Good group. Good interactions. Good space. Pizza.I worked with the CodeCause group this time. Great start. I got a chance to share my skills and learn some things. That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone. I am having trouble with Scala Eclipse. It seems it does not want to run any code. It gives me this excuse "selection does not contain main type". The source files have been added so I am not sure why this keeps happening? Stack overflow had some solutions but none of them worked. This has frustrated me and I really would like help. Any suggestions?

Any word on when we're starting "Code Closet"?

Come on out of the Code Closet. :3 (LOL. Couldn't resist having a little fun with that typo. Besides, what would Alan Turing say if he were around today?)

Working on a simple C++ program to see if anything I've learned from trying out in bash and sed can be applied to more object-oriented programming languages. Anyone know how to add sound to a C++ program? The days of 'cout << "\a";' seem to be over. I'm thinking something more chiptune-like.

I may not be able to make it until around 8:30pm that day. Will there be a good contact point for me to get caught up with announcements?

    July 15

    • Tom K.

Hi Apollo. You'll see me around. Come find me and I can bring you up to speed if you missed anything.

I just pitched my startup idea in a local competition and won...I am not a coder, but I would love to partner with someone who does..I specialize in content writing, copy, and marketing. Should I come to the event?

    2 · July 15

    • Tom K.

Hi Jeff! Nice to meet you. Congrats on winning your pitch competition! It would be a huge benefit for you to come and hang out with us this Friday. It's a great group of all skill levels. Hopefully I see you there!

Hi. Nice to meet you! You should come to this next meetup. We will be talking about this exact topic - How do we get more production code bases is the hands of those who need the experience in their portfolio

Hey Everyone - I moved up the meetup this month to accommodate a fund raising trip for my start-up at the end of the month. I'll be out in California. Sorry if this throws off anyone's plans but next week will be a great follow up to June's meetup. It was our biggest meetup in a long time. Thanks for all of your support! See you then.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
