Brunch at The Rectory Cafe at Ward's Island

The Rectory Café is a nice restaurant on Ward’s Island with a wonderful lakeside patio. They have sandwiches that they offer for lunch. They also have some very good desserts, such as a Callebaut Semi-Sweet Brownie and Flourless Banana Chocolate Torte. The restaurant is located at:

Rectory Cafe
102 Lakeshore Ave, Ward's Island
Toronto, ON M5J 1X9

After the brunch, we can go for a walk on the island.

Getting there:
The only way to get to Ward’s Island is by ferry. The ferry leaves from the Toronto Ferry Docks at 11 AM and 11:30 AM. After that, you better start swimming (just kidding). You get the ferry at the Toronto Ferry Docks, which is located at the foot of Bay Street and Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. The address of the Toronto Ferry Docks is:

Toronto Ferry Docks
9 Queen’s Quay West
Toronto, ON M5J 2H3
PH:[masked]

Web site with the ferry schedule is at:
http://www.toronto.ca/parks/island/ferry-schedule.htm

From the Toronto Parks, Forestry, and Recreation web site (directions to Toronto Ferry Docks):
Directions by TTC: From Union Station take the 509 Harbourfront or the 510 Spadina streetcar south to the Bay and Queen's Quay stop. Alternately, take the Bay Bus #6 southbound from the corner of Front and Bay to the Bay and Queen's Quay stop. The entrance to the ferry docks is on the south side of the street, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.

Walk / Drive: Main entrance at foot of Bay Street on Queen's Quay. Enter through the park via the walkway between the Westin Harbour Castle hotel and Harbour Castle condominiums. Parking is available 1 block north at Lakeshore and Bay, 1 block west on Queen's Quay between Bay and York, 1 block east opposite Toronto Star building.

Once you get to Ward’s Island, you get to The Rectory Café by taking Cibola Avenue to the right towards Centre Island. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the restaurant from when you get off the ferry. Although the address is on Lakeshore Ave., you will see a sign for The Rectory Cafe on Cibola Avenue.

For leaving Ward’s Island and going back to the city, the ferries leave Ward’s Island every 30 minutes at :15 and :45 past the hour.

Very nice event. I even was able to figure the bills out for everyone. It was nice meeting the new people that came to the event as well as seeing familiar friends. The weather and patio were perfect!

Beutiful location and very nice company. I was a little surprised about the menu since I expected a little more brunch choices and, unfortunately, the salad I decided on was missing a few ingredients which led to some going back an forth with not so friedly staff; apart from this, however, I enjoyed much the company, good conversation and the view towards the lake. Already signed up for the next event.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
