Dragon Boat Fusion is one of the best dim sum restaurants in the entire GTA and definitely a favourite among the Chinese community in Markham and Richmond Hill. Because of its high quality, the entrance way is always jam packed with people waiting for a table. The time I was there last year for dim sum, the food spoke for its reputation. Sui mai was outstanding. Har gow comes with an actual shrimp on top of it. The presentation is in beautiful square steamers with the name of the restaurant engraved on it. The décor is elegant but not overwhelming. And for the quality, the prices are actually reasonable.
Please note that although our reservation is at 11:30 AM, we may not be seated immediately and may have to wait up to a half hour for our table even with a reservation. I wanted to forewarn people about this. This is the disadvantage of such a good and popular restaurant.
The address of the restaurant is:
Dragon Boat Fusion

Public transit directions:
TTC subway to Finch. Then from Finch Station, take the VIVA Blue bus north to Richmond Hill Centre station. At Richmond Hill Centre Station, transfer to the VIVA Purple bus east (this bus goes along Hwy 7) and get off at East Beaver Creek Rd. Walk north on East Beaver Creek Rd. a couple of blocks to the restaurant. The VIVA Blue and VIVA Purple buses are very frequent buses and run every 10 to 15 minutes. The VIVA bus fare is $3.75.
Take the #71 or #71C Go Bus from Union Station. It departs Union Station at 10:10 AM and 10:40 AM. Get off at Unionville GO station. There, get the VIVA Purple (the VIVA stop is actually called “Enterprise”) going westbound and take to East Beaver Creek. Once at East Beaver Creek, walk a few blocks north on East Beaver Creek to the restaurant, which is in a strip mall. I am planning to take the 10:10 AM #71C GO bus from Union Station.
The best way to experience this Meetup is for everyone to order several dishes (I would recommend 3-4 dim sum dishes per person) and share dishes family style. This would mean there would be one bill per table to be evenly divided by all of those sharing. Please do not leave the event until the bill is settled. Also, please bring CASH for the food bill. I expect the bill INCLUDING tax and tip will come out to between $25 and $30 per person. (Last time I was here it came out to $26 per person.)
There is a $2 per person Meetup fee for this event.
If you RSVP “yes” and change your mind about attending, please update your RSVP.
Those who RSVP “yes” are expected to show up.
Please be at the event on time. In situations where you are late and the restaurant is full, your seat will be given away and not held, so please be on-time.
Attendance will be taken at all events and “no shows” will be tracked.
A person may be removed from the group for repeatedly being a “no show”.
A person who changes their RSVP to “no” with less than 3 hours before the start of an event without a good reason will be considered a “no show”.
A person who just briefly shows up at the event but does not stay at the restaurant for the meal will still be considered a “no show”.
