Would you be willing to pay in advance via Paypal for an event?

There are certain venues that will charge if people do not show up. Also, there are some restaurants that may be good, but require having a set menu for a large group. In these type of cases, I feel that asking people to pay up front is appropriate so that that I don`t end up with the bill if someone does not show up. Or alternatively, we could just not go to venues where it would be necessary for people to pay in advance. So I thought I would take a poll on the question.
