Update to Coffee Meetup Group Members:
Since my last posting for the group on Thursday, several members have responded to my request for help with sharing the activities that need to be done to keep this group going and thriving. Thanks to each of you. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I sure can use all the help you can give.
If any of the rest of you have thought about helping out but haven't contacted me yet, don't be shy about stepping forward, no matter how small a contribution you think you could make. Remember that "many hands make light work" and "the more the merrier".
I also welcome comments and suggestions about anything related to the group, whether you can help to implement them or not. My goals are to keep the group as responsive to the members' wishes as possible (and practical), and to share the workload widely so that no one is overloaded or burned out (including me).
In the spirit of listening to members, I have decided to respond to a request to switch our "every other Wednesday" meetup schedule to the "other" set of Wednesdays, in order to avoid a conflict with another group. That is, for this week, at least, I'm going to try scheduling a Coffee Time meetup for this Wednesday, even though we met just a week before. Then we'll try every other Wednesday after that. If there are a lot of objections, we can always switch back again.
I might also consider starting a second Coffee Time meetup series for the in-between weeks, most likely at a different location, and perhaps even on a different night of the week. There have been some suggestions that lead in this direction that were raised over the past several weeks. In order to implement this idea, however, I will need one or more Co- or Assistant Organizers for this new series.
And once again, many thanks to Wendy for creating and building this group, and for leaving it in such a healthy condition for her successor as Orgainizer.
