New Meetup for the Edmonton Coffee Meetup Group: Live Blues (no host) EBS

From: Bob R.
Sent on: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 3:11 PM
What: Live Blues (no host) EBS

When: Saturday, May 29, 2010, 8:00 PM - Midnight

Where: Queen Alexandra Hall
10425 University Ave
Edmonton AB T6E 4P6

Cost: (no event fee) $5.00 members, $10.00 guests

The Edmonton Blues Society (EBS) hosts live blues music on the last Saturday of every month (except July and August) at Queen Alexandra Hall. This month the bands are Paula Perro & No Foolin' and The Kyler Schogen Band. Doors open around 7:30, and the music starts at 8:00 and plays to about midnight, with only short breaks between sets. There is a dance floor, and drinks and snacks are available at bargain prices.

The cost is $5.00 for EBS members and $10.00 for non-members. Annual memberships are available at any EBS event and cost $25.00, including admission to that night's event.

This is my first posting of a "no host" live music event. By that, I mean that typically, these will just be announcements of live music events in the Edmonton area. There will be no Meetup event fee (but the venue may have its own fees, which will be in the posting), and there is no guarantee that anyone from the group (even me) will be in attendance. By RSVPing to such an event, you are letting other Coffee Group members know that you plan to attend. It will be up to you to find each other when you get there, as there is no designated "Host" or "Organizer" for these events.

Unlike regular Coffee Time Meetups, these "no host" live music events will not send you an automatic reminder a few days before the event. That setting can be changed if enough members ask for it. Also, if most coffee drinkers would prefer not to get e-mail notices of these events at all, we may create a special mailing list just for the live music fans in the Coffee Group. If you have strong opinions about these things, please send me a note by replying to this e-mail.

I hope you like this new feature of our group.
