During my middle school and high school years, I used to play on chess teams. At that time, I was highly competitive and playing chess helped me to formulate my take on life. I strongly believe that playing the game of chess correlates with life strategies. We all have opportunities to become champions. We are constantly presented with challenges, obstacles, actions and consequences. Both chess and life is a game of intuition, concentration, planning, reasoning, problem solving, critical thinking, overcoming adversity, and evaluation. The chess pieces are our objectives and when we move pieces about the board, we take action...our actions have consequences. So what’s your next move?Chess is a sport of the mind, and I miss the the excitement and the competitive nature of chess. After a twenty seven year break from the sport, I had decided to join a local chess club in February 2012. I am seriously studying to improve my chess skills, and I also play in OTB tournaments.
