We received some complaints from people who showed up to the chess and coffee meetup and nobody was there. Upon further investigation, I realized that our group's meetup description was saying we meet on Sundays (when it should have said Saturday). I have corrected this error.
For anyone who was affected by this mix-up, I sincerely apologize.
So, to summarize (and clarify), the Phoenix Chess and Coffee group meets regularly on Saturdays (2 PM), at the Coffee Plantation near 74th and Shea, Scottsdale.
In other news, the chess meetup is totally rocking lately! If you've attended before, but then stopped coming, I urge you to come back and check us out again! The rest of us have been wondering where you are!
Meet other local chess players, drink coffee, and play chess! Anyone who enjoys chess (enjoying coffee is optional) is welcome! We have a dedicated meetup that gets together at 3PM in Phoenix on Saturdays at the Scottsdale Coffee Plantation (74th St. and Shea). Even though only a couple of people ever seem to RSVP, usually about 10-15 people show up every week, so keep that in mind. Note: Chess meetups usually last a couple of hours. If you have a good chess board, please bring it! Some people like to bring their chess clocks, too. If you don't have a chess board, you're still welcome to come (technically, only half of the people have to bring boards for everyone to be able to play).
