Hello again, fellow lovers of coffee, tea and conversation!
On behalf of the organization team for The Local Coffee and Tea Scene, we welcome you to another great mid year of visiting local and independent coffee and tea establishments within the Los Angeles and Greater area. With a mixture of diverse backgrounds and age ranges, friendly members combined with dynamic and thought provoking conversations, our collective provides a welcomed oasis from your local big coffee and tea chain.
Like with every enforced policy, periodical reminders and refreshers are helpful and constructive to new and familiar members alike.
QUICK REVIEW OF INFORMATION:
- PHOTOGRAPH POLICY
- RSVPS, COLOR STATUS AND HOW TO GET KICKED OUT OF THE GROUP:
- CONFIRMATION PROCEDURES
- IF YOU DON’T RSVP, DON’T SHOW UP – WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE EVENT ORGANIZER
As we are a social group, you MUST have a valid picture of yourself to join, RSVP and continue membership. If, at any point you do not have a clear photo of yourself, you may be notified by an organizer of your violation. Organizers have the option to remove you from membership based on this policy.
Remember, you can have whatever photos you want in your main profile. But, for this group, you must have a photo of yourself.
If you break a camera once you get in front of it, you're lying to yourself. No one is that ugly.
RSVPS, COLOR STATUS AND HOW TO GET KICKED OUT OF THE GROUP:
Green: Members that marked "Yes", confirmed and attend the event have "Green". Next to their names. Having Green status warrants you to advanced RSVP notification for special reservations, preferred movement to the YES list if someone does not confirm, and overall good standing with the group.
Yellow (1 No Show) : Members that marked "Yes", confirmed and did not attend the event will be marked "Yellow". This a strike. Yellow status can be changed to Green by an appeal process. If you are marked Yellow for an event and your absence is accidental (i.e. car problem, etc), send an email the ORGANIZER OF THE EVENT. When they receive your email, they have the option of changing your color status.
Red (2 No Shows): Members that are marked "Yellow", RSVP YES to an event and do not attend are marked "Red". Red members are those with 2 No Shows. Red members are strongly encouraged not to RSVP for Reservation Required events, as their RSVP will be removed.
Removed Members (3 No Shows): Members that are marked "Red", RSVP for an event and do not show up will be immediately removed from the group.
There are two different levels of confirmation: confirmations not required, general and reservations required.
Confirmations Not Required:
Confirmations will be sent by the organizer of the event around five days out from the event’s occurrence. You will have three business days to confirm using the following methods: Confirm via email or Confirm via comment in your RSVP status. Those individuals that do not confirm by the requested date will have their RSVP removed to make way for those on the wait list. Those on the wait list will receive an email that their RSVP has been changed to "Yes". When you receive that email, please confirm your attendance up to 12 hours before the event is scheduled to occur. All confirmation numbers are final by the day proceeding the event.
Reservation Required Events:
These events will be clearly marked as such. Members marked "Green" receive priority RSVPs. Those members marked as "Red" are strongly encouraged not to RSVP, as their RSVP will be removed. Confirmation email will be sent on the Sunday before the event. However, the confirmation deadline will be the Wednesday preceding the event, with those wait listed having until Friday to confirm. All confirmation numbers are final by the Friday proceeding the event.
IF YOU DON’T RSVP, DON’T SHOW UP – WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE EVENT ORGANIZER
Interested in attending a non Reservations Required event that has a few last minute cancellations and you did not RSVP? Please respect the organizer and text message or email them before just showing up.
Remember, it is up to the organizer’s discretion to mark your attendance on the event’s page.
Again, we hope that this reminder of our procedures will help build our group to one of the premiere coffee and tea, social networking and casual dining groups on Meetup.com in the Los Angeles area. We thank you and each of our 400+ members for your continued membership and look forward for your continued participation throughout 2010 and beyond.
