Join us for live jazz, hors' d oeuvres, and a multi-Meetup meet and greet at 800 East Studios www.800east.com one of Atlanta's top recording facilities.
Your $15 ticket (at the door) includes entrance to the live jazz performance as well as our usual substantial hors d' oeuvres. This is a BYOB (bring your own bottle/beverage) event - bottled water and glasses will be provided.
The musicians joining T. Woods will be regulars John Lewis on drums, Ken Gregory on trumpet and guitar, Marvelous Marla Feeney on clarinet, violin, saxophones, flute, and our two very special guests, Dave Webb on bass and vocals and the wonderful Jeni Michelson on piano and vocals. In addition, several other instrumentalists and vocalists will be in the house. The performance will include a wide variety of jazz standards, original jazz, pop tunes, a bit of blues, etc.
Dave Webb, one of my/our favorite musicians in the whole world, has an illustrious career both as bassist and vocalist, playing with many top musicians in many genres including Randall Bramlett and the mega band Sugarland with whom he played bass and did back-up vocals. Equally skilled in almost any style of music, he has worked in jazz, rock, pop, country, folk, - you name it. We are thrilled that he has agreed to come all the way from his home in Nashville, where he is in constant demand as a studio musician, to be with us for this special show.
Jeni Michelson, one of my/our other favorites, will take over from me on piano and vocals and do what she does best - sing and play with soul, sweetness, and fun. She and Dave Webb go back many years and together will deliver some fabulous renditions of many tunes.
800 East Studios has seating for about 110 - seating is on a first-come, first-served basis - there will also be folks in the lobby, kitchen area, wine/libations area, in the loft, etc., - if all seats are taken, you can still enjoy the performance on your feet on the main floor.
Again - DO NOT RELY ON YOUR GPS - go to 800East.com for location/directions
