The Online ColdFusion Meetup Pages

Welcome to the Online ColdFusion Meetup Group, hosted by veteran ColdFusion developer and troubleshooter, [Charlie Arehart].

The ColdFusion Meetup is an online ColdFusion user group which meets irregularly, as speakers can be arranged, generally at time slots on a Thursday of either noon or 6pm US Eastern time.

We're an officially recognized [Adobe User Group] and the world's largest CFUG, serving both those who do and don't have their own local CFUG. Our sessions, which have been led by several dozens of speakers, are presented online using Adobe [Acrobat Connect] and anyone may attend and view both the live event and the [available recordings].

The CF community is known for a high degree of sharing, with many developers out there who love to share their knowledge and experience. Whether discussing the latest in CF features and techniques, or reviewing fundamentals and aspects of technology related to [ColdFusion] development, the Online ColdFusion Meetup is a place where CF developers can find great information to make their jobs better and their careers more satisfying.

Speaking at the Meetup

If you'd like to present, please email me, charlie (at) For more details, see answers to common questions at [].

Other ways to get announcements?

Besides watching the front page of this site, there also is an available [RSS feed for the calendar]. Of course, members get an email notification before each meeting.

If you or others you know can't access this site (because is blocked for them as a social networking site), let them know they can also get announcements via [twitter (@cfmeetup)], or via our corresponding [Adobe Group] site, which offers a feed of this site's calendar.

Spread the word

The URL for the group, if you want to share it, can be more easily remembered as [http://www.coldfusion...], which simply redirects to this site.

Background: The CF meetup was started in Feb 2005 by [Steven Erat], then of Adobe. In March 2007, he needed to step down from running the group, citing work pressures, and he handed the reigns to [Charlie Arehart] and [Raymond Camden], two long-time contributors to the community. Their goal was to rekindle and carry on the tradition of finding the best in online CF presentations from developers around the world. Ray stepped down later in 2007 (busy helping the community in so many other ways, and we certainly thank him for all he's done!), and Charlie has continued to host the meetup since then.

As of May 2013, we've had nearly 250 presentations by several dozen speakers. Here's to many more.

Member Discounts

Various companies offer discounts to Adobe user group members. See the [discounts page] for more info.

Finally, if you have any thoughts or ideas for continuing to improve the group, please do share them either by email to [Charlie], or in the [forum] if you'd like to have a group discussion.

Pre-show Music
Often before a session starts, I will play some music. It's open source music, from either of two bands, The Far Cary (no connection to the CF open source project) or Tatsu. You can find the songs and (a couple others) on and
