Jared Rypka-Hauer on ARF! (Active Record Factory)

Jared Rypka-Hauer will present on a port to ColdFusion of Ruby on Rails Active Record Pattern. The project is named ARF!, developed by Joe Rinehart. You can find out much more about ARF! and even watch a couple brief movies on it at Joe's website at clearsoftware.net. Joe initially described ARF! with the following blog entry:

"I'd like to introduce "Arf!" (Active Record Factory!), a Rails-style ActiveRecord implementation in ColdFusion. I have to disclaim this by saying that I have mixed feelings about ActiveRecord - it's at the same time very nice for doing things quickly, but I think it's ripe for abuse, as it's easy to think it's the begin and end all of OO programming. However, I think it's also a great way to stop writing some of the same blasted code over and over again for simple projects."

Jared Rypka-Hauer, Architect/Developer at Continuum Media Group LLC, maintains a ColdFusion blog at web-relevant.com/blogs/cfobjective, writes for ColdFusion Developer's Journal, and has probably bunked with most of you at various developer conferences ;-)
