Description:
We return to our normal hour-long, evening Online ColdFusion Meetups (in addition to the noon CFUnited preview the same day) with a presentation by John Farrar on his Coop approach to (and framework for designing) CFML applications. I hesitate to say framework, as many think of the popular ones and wonder, do we need another? Actually, Coop is built to address user interface design within CFML apps, so it's not the typical framework.
From his own description that he offered for the talk, "OK, there is qForms, CFForms (flash and ajax on the way)... so why another form and page processing tool? COOP is in development, aimed to support AJAX functions, works with libraries that use namespace attributes, it's open source and free. COOP approaches things different. It separates the page markup from the processing logic using a CFC we call a "CO-Processor". Come and find out why others keep calling the concept cool!"
About John Farrar:
John Farrar, owns SOSensible (sosensible.com) and has been a CF developer since 4.5. He has developed everything from non-profit and small business sites to enterprise systems for companies like Johnson Controls. His company motto is "Technology that reaches beyond the enterprise.".
