We'll have two speakers on Thursday, Feb 7. First up will be Mike Culver of Amazon on "Amazon Web Services: the Next Wave". I'll have more on the 6pm speaker later in a separate entry.

Description (provided by the speaker):

In this session Amazon Web Services Evangelist Mike Culver will update us on what Amazon is up to in the Web Services space. Many of you are already familar with AWS, which we looked at in a recent Online Meetup. In this session Mike will focus on several new Web Services such as Amazon Flexible Payments Service, as well as Amazon SimpleDB--a brand new database Web service that promises to be as popular as the other blockbuster releases from Aamzon.

Speaker:

Mike Culver joined the Developer Relations Group of Amazon Web Services in 2006. He brings with him fifteen years of technology leadership experience, including at companies such as Microsoft. In addition Mike has a strong background running an IT organization, with over a decade of experience in the Electrical Wholesale Distribution industry. As a Web Services Evangelist at Amazon, he helps developers take advantage of disruptive technologies that are going to change the way we think about computer applications, and the way that businesses compete.

Notices:

PLEASE NOTE: when you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE LOGIN AS A GUEST. Do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks.

As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With 1,300+ members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site).

Finally, again, the recording URL will be posted on the Meetup Message Board, which can also be reached directly via http://tinyurl.com/2d...
