 TING URL: http://experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup/ \nDURATION: Approx. 1 hour\n
Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting at http://recor
dings.coldfusionmeetup.com\n\nABOUT THIS SESSION: \n\nOur second session fo
r the day is at a special time\, 2pm US EDT (which is 7pm in London)\, beca
use our speaker will be joining us from the UK. Tom Chiverton will speak on
"Intermediate ColdSpring: Remote CFCs". \n\nPLEASE NOTE THE INITAL POSTING
OF THE MEETING INDICATED 7PM EDT\, WHICH WAS A MISTAKE NOW CORRECTED. IT'S
  7PM BST (UK TIME)\, BUT THAT'S 2PM US EDT.\n\nTOPIC DESCRIPTION:\n\nWhen e
xposing ColdSpring beans as remote (web\, AJAX\, AMF etc.) services there a
re several common problems that need to be solved. In this presentation\, w
e'll discuss some of the problems and the ways ColdSpring can address these
.\n\nWe will use a RemoteFactoryBean to generate a remote façade automatica
lly\, and then see how Pointcuts can automatically apply Before and Around
Advice to this façade. We will see how these two powerful techniques simpli
fy development and maintenance\, by showing practical examples of both type
s of Advice.\n\nIf you are using ColdSpring already for Dependancy Injectio
 n\, these techniques are a next step.\n\nSPEAKER: \n\nTom Chiverton is a we
 b developer for\nHalliwells (http://halliwells.com\, a ColdFusion powered t
op-30 law firm based in the UK. He has been using ColdFusion since version
4.5\, and increasingly builds Flex-powered web sites as front ends to ColdS
pring and Reactor powered systems.\nIn previous roles he has worked on vehi
cle tracking systems\, and a stint doing UNIX systems administration.\n\nTo
m likes to participate in the community and you've probably seen him popup
everywhere from mailing lists to blog comments. You can find his blog here.
\n\nWhen not online\, he's currently trying to learn Reason and finish his
garden pond.\n\nRECORDING: As always\, the meeting will be recorded\, and t
he recording URL will be posted after the meeting at http://recordings.cold
 fusionmeetup.com.\n\nPODCAST/DOWNLOADABLE RECORDINGS:\nWe will attempt to m
ake this meeting available as a downloadable recording\, which will be list
ed on the recordings page within a few days of the meeting. \n\nLOGGING IN:
When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link
above) to view the meeting\, PLEASE USE THE "LOGIN AS GUEST" option\, and U
SE YOUR NAME\, but do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password.
The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if y
ou have a real Connect account\, don't use that either. Just sign in as a g
uest. It's just not worthwhile try to add those who have real accounts to t
he participant list for each meeting. You have no fewer features as a gues
t as than you would if logging in with your own Connect account. Thanks.\n\
nRSVP\, but only if coming: We appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to com
e (using the link on this email or at the meetup site)\, though it's not ma
ndatory and it's not a commitment. BTW\, no need to RSVP if you can't make
it nor even explain why you can't. With nearly 1\,500 members\, there's rea
lly no reason to explain your absence. :-) \n\nFEEDBACK/MEEETING DISCUSSION
: We would appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (via the
follow-up email sent to members\, or via a link on the site). Meetup.com a
lso now offers a meeting-specific discussion area\, available on each meeti
ng event page\, in addition to the feedback feature. Please feel free to ha
ve discussions there about the meeting's topic.\n\nADD THIS TO YOUR CALENDA
R: If you would like to easily add this event to your own personal calendar
\, please note that the page for the event offers a link (on the right) say
ing\, "Add this meeting to your calendar"\, which offers links to get calen
 dar downloads for Outlook\, iCal\, Google\, and Yahoo calendars.\n\nOnline
