ABOUT THIS SESSION:
Our noon (US ET) talk on Thursday Nov 12 will be "Getting Started With Mura CMS", with Steve Withington.
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: (provided by the speaker)
Looking for a ColdFusion-powered, open source content management system? Drop in and learn how to have a site up and running in less than sixty minutes! Within one hour, I'll walk through each of these steps to help you get started using Mura CMS:
SPEAKER: (provided by the speaker)
I’ve been using Adobe® ColdFusion® since CF5 and building web applications for over 10 years. My first "major" site was for a fantasy football league I was a commissioner for many moons ago. This was before Yahoo!, ESPN and others jumped on the fantasy sports bandwagon. I bought a program that would compile stats each week (think floppy discs) and I would transfer this information (by hand of course) to the web site. I had a form for team owners to submit their lineup which was sent to me via email (that was hot stuff back in the day!). Things sure have come a long way since then!
Today I’m the lead web developer at Ignition Studio, Inc., a full-service advertising agency located in Rockford, Illinois. I have experience working on a wide variety of projects ranging from small, non-profit companies to large multi-national corporations.
Recently, I’ve been leveraging the power of Mura CMS (along with my knowledge of ColdFusion, SQL, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, etc.) to shorten the development timeframe for some of the most common feature requests and allow clients the ability to manage their own content. I’m excited to share my knowledge of Mura (a comprehensive, open-source content management system) with others in hopes of helping other CFML developers become acquainted with its power and flexibility.
RECORDING: As always, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted after the meeting at http://recordings.col....

RSVP, but only if coming: We do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. But there's no need to RSVP if you can't make it let alone explain why you can't. With over 1,900 members, no worries. :-)
