CFUnited Europe Preview, "Using FLiP as a sole developer", with Christian Ready

When: Thursday, Jan 17, 6:00pm EST (GMT-5) (What time is that for you? See http://www.timeanddat... which shows it at EST, and you can choose your city from the list offered to see your time.) Meeting URL: http://experts.acroba... Duration: Approx. 1 hour Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting on the Meetup Message Board (in the first msg, http://tinyurl.com/2d...) Our second speaker on Jan 24, at 6pm EST, will be Christian Ready, presenting another preview session for the upcoming CFUnited Europe event (http://europe.cfunite...) being held March 12-13th in London. These preview talks will be about half the duration of the full hour-long sessions, giving a taste of what the full session would cover. He will be speaking on "Case Study: Using FLiP as a sole developer". Description (provided by the speaker): A 20-30 minute preview session of my full session, "Case Study: Using FLiP as a sole developer." The Fusebox Lifecycle Process (FLiP) has been used by small and large teams to complete complex web application projects. It turns out that it also helps a great deal if you are a single developer. FLiP lends itself to an organized thought process, allowing a single designer/developer to methodically work through the myriad of issues in a large-scope web application development project. In this session, Christian Ready tells the story of how he employed FLiP to design and build a new web site for the US Air Force Auxiliary in Maryland (http://mdcap.org/).... The FLiP process will be discussed and specific examples of how it was employed in this project will be provided. Speaker: Christian Ready has been designing and developing web sites since 1996. In his spare time he's an officer in the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force, serving as commander of Group II in the Maryland Wing, and flies around a bit as a Mission Observer. Christian holds a bachelor's degree in Astrophysics and worked on the Hubble Space Telescope. Even though he stayed on the ground most of the time, it was still a pretty cool gig. He's nuts about web standards, CSS, accessibility, usability, design, ColdFusion, best practices, and a whole host of other buzzwords. Notices: PLEASE NOTE: when you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE LOGIN AS A GUEST. Do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks. As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With 1,300+ members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site). Finally, again, the recording URL will be posted on the Meetup Message Board, which can also be reached directly via http://tinyurl.com/2d...

I'm so sorry. I had a project that is due tomorrow that I just had to work on. I will listen to the recorded session at a later date. Sorry, Christian, but I think you'll let me slide. ;) Thanks for all you do, Charlie!
