http://experts.acroba... Duration: Approx. 1 hour Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting on the Meetup Message Board (in the first msg,
http://tinyurl.com/2d...) Our second speaker on Thursday, Jan 31, at 6pm EST, will be Jonathan Wall of Adobe, presenting "The new Adobe Developer Connection: Content, Code and Community". ** ** Adobe has graciously offered that we can do a giveaway to a lucky attendeed of a single Adobe product or suite ** up to a value of US$2,100! Must be present to win! :-) Description (provided by the speaker): Learn about the new Adobe Developer Connection, including a guided tour of the new experience covering ways you can gain knowledge, get answers, share information and participate in the community. Plus you'll get a glimpse of ideas for the future. Speaker: As group manager for developer relations in the Platform Business Unit at Adobe Systems, Jonathan is responsible for the Adobe User Groups and Adobe Community Experts programs, the Adobe Labs website, and the Adobe Developer Connection marketing. His role focuses on the strategy and implementation of programs and resources to attract, engage and retain developers. Jonathan has also held a variety of marketing roles at Macromedia, Allaire, IBM, Sybase and Powersoft. He holds a Bachelor's degree in history from Bates College. He earned a MBA and Master of Information Management from Washington University in St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoys convincing his two-and-a-half-year-old son, Zachary, that he doesn't really need to wear his pajamas all day, as well as reading Zachary the same book about fire trucks-anywhere from three to seven times in a row. Notices: PLEASE NOTE: when you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE LOGIN AS A GUEST. Do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks. As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With 1,300+ members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site). Finally, again, the recording URL will be posted on the Meetup Message Board, which can also be reached directly via

Excellent topic Charlie - great reward - it is great to see adobe investing in existing and new tools for developers. The live docs need to be faster

I found it useful but wished that he could have focused more on coldfusion support areas than Flex. It really would be nice to have the cookbooks for coldfusion, too.

Heh, just talking 'out loud'. some local CF'ers and flexers in my neck of the woods all discovered each other and are now trying to organize a bit. We are 8 people strong atm. :-) A formal adobe user group, informal networking? who knows.

Hy Joshua, "big enough" for what? Not sure I get if you're asking something of me or the presenter. Let me know here.

this is very topical as a group of us CF developers in Portsmouth NH were just talking about trying to formalize something. Not sure if we are big enough though.
