"BlazeDS Revealed!", with Tom Jordahl of Adobe

When: Thursday, Feb 28, 6:00pm EST (GMT-5) (What time is that for you? See this link which shows the time as EST and you can choose your city from the list offered to see it in your own time.) Meeting URL: http://experts.acroba... Duration: Approx. 1 hour Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting on the Meetup Message Board (in the first msg, at http://tinyurl.com/2d...) Our second speaker on Thursday, Feb 28 at 6pm EST will be Tom Jordahl on "BlazeDS Revealed!". Description: (provided by the speaker) Recently Adobe announced the release of BlazeDS which will make some key server technologies open source and free to use in any application. These technologies are critical to building great applications with Flex and AIR. Tom will talk about exactly what you get in BlazeDS and how it relates to LiveCycle Data Services and will detail some of the reasons why you might want to use these server technologies. He will also explain how ColdFusion developers can take advantage of BlazeDS in their applications. Speaker: Tom Jordahl is a Senior Computer Scientist at Adobe and is currently working on the LiveCycle Data Services and BlazeDS team. Before making the jump to Flex land, Tom was the architect for ColdFusion 8 and over the past 11 years at Allaire/Macromedia/Adobe has designed and/or implemented a wide variety of features in both the original C++ and Java versions of ColdFusion. He was also a core team member on the JRun 4.0 and Apache Axis development teams and was the Adobe representative on the W3C WSDL 2.0 working group. Tom is busy working on making Flex and LiveCycle Data Services the best they can be. RECORDING: Again, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted on the Meetup Message Board after the meeting, which can be reached directly via http://tinyurl.com/2d... LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE LOGIN AS A GUEST. Do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks. RSVP: As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With 1,300+ members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site).

I didn't know a lot about BlazeDS, LCDS, etc and although I heard in the beginning that this would be an advanced meeting, I'm glad to say that it was really useful for me. So thank you very much.
