When: Thursday, June 5, 12:00pm US EDT (UTC/GMT-5) (What time is that for you? See http://www.timeanddat... which shows the time as US EDT and you can choose your city from the list offered to see what time that is in your own timezone.) Meeting URL: http://experts.acroba... Duration: Approx. 1 hour Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting at http://recordings.col... We may have two talks for Thursday, June 5. The first is set, and I'll announce the second once it's set. First up will be Nick Kwiatkowski, presenting "5-Minute CRUD Magic with ColdFusion, Flex and LCDS". (This may seem similar to last week's talk on "ColdFusion and Flex" by Dale Fraser, but Nick attended that and confirms that the information will be different and will supplement that talk. BTW, I'll be out of town speaking at Scotch on the Rocks, so Jeremy Peterson has kindly offered to guest host for me. Description: (provided by the speaker) Learn how to leverage the LiveCycle Data Services 'Data Management' features to create quick and robust CRUD Flex-based applications. Learn about LCDS's push and data synchronization possibilities, and how they can be configures with the integrated LiveCycle Data Services server bundled with ColdFusion 8. Speaker: Nick Kwiatkowski work for Michigan State University and is the manager of the Michigan Flex User's Group, and an assistant manager of the Mid-Michigan ColdFusion User's Group. He has written several articles on using Flex and ColdFusion together in publications like the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. RECORDING: As always, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted after the meeting at http://recordings.col.... Looking for a Podcast or other Download of Recordings? Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any podcast or other download of the recorded meetings. The latest version of Adobe Connect, which we just started using on May 22, does permit creation of downloadable recordings. I'll be exploring that and will announce when we can offer them. LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE USE THE "LOGIN AS GUEST" option, and use your real name, but do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks. RSVP, only if coming: As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With nearly 1,500 members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site). Discuss each meeting: While the meetup.com site has long had the feature to rate and offer a single feedback comment about each meeting, as well as to have discussions on any subjects, it now offers meeting-specific discussion area, available on each meeting event page. Please feel free to have discussions there about the meeting's topic. Add this to your calendar: If you would like to easily add this event to your own personal calendar, please note that the page for the event offers a link (on the right) saying, "Add this meeting to your calendar", which offers links to get calendar downloads for Outlook, iCal, Google, and Yahoo calendars. For now, there's no means for me to add these as attachments to the email sent out about each meeting.
