"Refactoring in ColdFusion: From Procedural to OO", with Dan Wilson

When: Thursday, June 12, 6:00pm US EDT (UTC/GMT-5) (What time is that for you? See http://www.timeanddat... which shows the time as US EDT and you can choose your city from the list offered to see what time that is in your own timezone.) Meeting URL: http://experts.acroba... Duration: Approx. 1 hour Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting at http://recordings.col... Our talk for Thursday, June 12 will have Dan Wilson presenting "Refactoring in ColdFusion: From Procedural to OO". Description: (provided by the speaker) If you would like to know how to migrate an existing procedurally programmed application into an object oriented one, grab a chair and sit for a while. We'll discuss some sensible guidelines designed to help you make incremental changes towards OO nirvana. We'll also look at lots of code samples, we all like code samples, right? Speaker: (provided by the speaker) Dan Wilson, technical sales engineer at Alagad Inc,began his IT career at a fast-paced start-up during the dotcom heyday. He has since then held senior program and development positions in Technical Consulting, Health Care, Online Publishing and Government Contracting. Dan is an avid participant in technology communities; currently serving on the board for the Triangle ColdFusion User Group in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and regular contributor to open source projects based on ColdFusion, Flex and AIR platforms. You can find his thoughts on ColdFusion, Flex, AIR and other technology matters at http://www.nodans.com.... Dan spends a significant amount of time learning new technologies and techniques. He has taught and presented since 2001 after an invitation to design and lead courses in Web Development for established IT professionals at Metro IS. When not in front of a computer, you can find him biking, hiking, surfing and playing volleyball. RECORDING: As always, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted after the meeting at http://recordings.col.... Looking for a Podcast or other Download of Recordings? Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any podcast or other download of the recorded meetings. The latest version of Adobe Connect, which we just started using on May 22, does permit creation of downloadable recordings. I'll be exploring that and will announce when we can offer them. LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE USE THE "LOGIN AS GUEST" option, and use your real name, but do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account. Thanks. RSVP, only if coming: As always, we do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it's not mandatory and it's not a commitment. BTW, no need to RSVP if you can't make it nor even explain why you can't. With nearly 1,500 members, there's really no reason to explain your absence. :-) We'll also appreciate your sharing your feedback after the meeting (also offered via a follow-up email or via a link on the site). Discuss each meeting: Meetup.com now offers a meeting-specific discussion area, available on each meeting event page, in addition to the feedback feature. Please feel free to have discussions there about the meeting's topic. Add this to your calendar: If you would like to easily add this event to your own personal calendar, please note that the page for the event offers a link (on the right) saying, "Add this meeting to your calendar", which offers links to get calendar downloads for Outlook, iCal, Google, and Yahoo calendars.

This meeting had a serious malfunction, and it was terminated about 20 minutes in. We will have to reschedule. Sorry. There is no recording.
